9/13/24 – This is a great example of a Type 1 East German AK-47 bayonet with it’s original scabbard. The bayonet blade is in excellent condition and shows no signs of sharpening. There are a few marks on the blade caused from what we expect to be cosmoline. The black plastic grips are in great condition, there are some marks on the grips, as well as one minor chip on the left grip panel. The hand guard of the bayonet has what appears to be electro pencil markings of numbers on both sides. The left side is is marked “O6627” this marking has a line going through it. On the right side it is marked “182”, both markings are visible and are legible. The scabbard of this bayonet maintains almost all of it’s original finish, with only a few minor scratches and dings. The attachment mechanism on this bayonet is still functional and strong.
